HeartPeace assists with meditation by providing real-time feedback on your inner peace. The feedback is generated through the analysis of your cardiac coherence, utilizing algorithms that assess the balance between your parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous system activation. Thus, the use of a heart rate monitor is necessary.

While the back camera can be utilized as a heart rate monitor, it is advisable to opt for a BLE heart rate monitor for enhanced accuracy, increased flexibility in movement, operation even when the screen is off, and lower battery consumption. Further information on compatible monitors can be found in the settings.

The feedback is conveyed through an animation that mirrors your inner state. A larger, slower, and bluer animation indicates higher levels of inner peace.

Additionally, auditory cues are employed for feedback, recommending the use of headphones. A bustling crowd noise represents lower inner peace, while sounds of meditating monks and deep tones signify elevated inner peace.

For improved concentration on breathing exercises, it is recommended to be seated, utilize headphones, and close your eyes to minimize distractions.

The app offers an integration option with the Health app by logging sessions as mindfulness sessions.

Note:

  • You have the option to select the back camera for heart rate measurement in preferences. Simply place your finger gently over the back camera and flash, minimizing movement.
  • Although the camera-based heart rate monitor functions adequately, a BLE heart rate monitor is preferred due to its higher accuracy, increased flexibility, lower battery usage, and screen-independent operation.
  • Only heart rate monitors that accurately measure R-R intervals and are equipped with Bluetooth 4.0 (BLE) are supported.
